Bellevue is named as #3 in this CNN Money magazine article, Best Home Deals in the Best Places.
“Bellevue is booming; its low crime rate, mild climate and proximity to Seattle, 10 miles away, have made it a go-to place for many affluent area residents. If forested cityscapes are your thing, this is your kind of place…”
Such is the lead in description for another survey by Money naming Bellevue as #4 in the lineup of the 100 Best Small Cities. Why Bellevue? Well, the city’s assets include, ‘an embarrassment of arts and entertainment,’ nationally acclaimed high schools, and a culturally diverse population. Plus, according to the article, Bellevue has more jobs than it has residents. Oh, and did you know… Bellevue has 74 parks?!
If any of you have been ‘out on the town’ in downtown Bellevue on one of her long-sunlit summer evenings, you know this is a ‘happening place’ for young professionals. Bellevue’s downtown is all relatively a new-build and impeccably maintained. The restaurants are generally rather full – even during these economically strapped times. Some eateries have outdoor seating for those brief warm summer days and evenings, and, Earls, has huge opening windows that when open, give the appearance of no walls at all between restaurant seating and the Bellevue Way streetscape. Trendy and fun.
